At interpack, Hesser Packaging GmbH and SÜDPACK will showcase a pioneering packaging concept for whole coffee beans and ground coffee in a 1 kg format. The stable stand-up pouches from the film manufacturer’s CarbonLite® range are PP-based and therefore recyclable. Thanks to their high oxygen and moisture barrier, they provide excellent protection for aroma and freshness as well as against UV light. Trade visitors can find Hesser in the Packaging Valley area in Hall 16, Booth 16D72-10.

It is set to be a small-scale yet high-impact trade fair appearance with a real “wow” factor: on February 1, 2026, a “legendary” name returned to the packaging industry. Since then, Hesser Packaging GmbH has operated as an independent Syntegon subsidiary, overseeing the package maker business and continuing the historic legacy of these packaging pioneers 165 years after Geiger & Hesser was founded. Its core focus is on new machines, service, and valves for primary packaging of dry foods such as coffee, flour, and sugar.

CarbonLite®: Designed for Recycling

The flow pack films in SÜDPACK’s CarbonLite® brand family perfectly combine material efficiency, recyclability, and performance. These latest-generation PP-based mono-materials are lightweight and more than 90% recyclable (according to current PPWR design principles and internal calculations), helping to significantly reduce their carbon footprint compared with conventional laminates. Above all, this innovative packaging solution offers a reliable and sustainable alternative to conventional laminates such as PET/Alu/PE. Thanks to close collaboration with renowned machine manufacturers, it can also be processed on existing equipment on an industrial scale.

... Hesser’s showcases will feature SÜDPACK’s high-performance films processed into practical stand-up pouches for coffee. Oxygen and water vapor barriers optimized for the packaged product ensure long shelf life, freshness, and aroma protection at all times. Optional white pigmentation or metallization provides protection against UV radiation.

Reliable sealing performance is another key factor in ensuring maximum product safety and packaging reliability – and it also allows aroma protection valves to be integrated reliably into the sealing process. And to ensure an attractive presentation at the point of sale, SÜDPACK offers a range of package printing options – rotogravure, flexo, digital, and 7C printing – delivering striking results that can be tailored precisely to the product, print image, and customer requirements.

Hesser will showcase the PMX 4001 at its booth ...

... as an ideal choice for producing PP stand-up pouches. This compact and robust vertical flow pack machine was developed specifically for the demanding requirements of coffee packaging – and can be used either as a standalone machine or integrated into a turnkey line solution.

Despite its small footprint, the PMX 4001 achieves an impressive output of up to 65 pouches per minute in reliable 24/7 operation (based on 500 g packs of whole coffee beans). It can produce a wide range of pouch formats and sealing options with first-class seam quality.

Additional key capabilities include long evacuation times for a deep vacuum to protect the product’s aroma, as well as high weight accuracy during high-speed filling. Intelligent features such as IO-Link and Synexio integration also provide valuable real-time data for process optimization and predictive maintenance. Last but not least, the PMX 4001’s open design provides access from all four sides, making cleaning easier and keeping changeover times to a minimum.
