Packaging Innovations 2026

Built on trust, proven by reliability, delivered with quality – SÜDPACK’s motto for the Packaging Innovations trade show in Birmingham says it all. From February 11 to 12, 2026, the renowned German film manufacturer will showcase its expertise in Hall 2, Booth 20D – as a strong development partner and reliable supplier to the packaging industry. Its comprehensive portfolio – particularly of material-efficient, high-performance films and packaging solutions for food and non-food products developed in accordance with Design for Recycling guidelines – is among the very best in terms of innovation and functionality.

SÜDPACK is a highly attractive partner for UK-based producers and packers. With its conventional laminates – and above all its, material-efficient packaging concepts for food, nutraceuticals, as well as technical and pharmaceutical products – this long-established yet highly innovative manufacturer based in southern Germany is perfectly aligned with current market demands in the UK. From consultancy and packaging development to extrusion, finishing and printing, SÜDPACK offers a full-service solution from a single source. One point of contact, short lead times, tailored concepts, rapid results.

From fresh meat to snacks …

In the face of environmental targets, recycling ambitions and ongoing cost pressures, this family-owned company – founded in 1964 – delivers exactly what the market demands: today and into the future. For the safe and efficient packaging of products such as sausage, cheese or meat, SÜDPACK’s portfolio extends from thermoformable rigid and flexible films to peelable and reclosable top webs based on Monomaterials.

SÜDPACK will also present its CarbonLite® product family in Birmingham – the latest generation of high-performance, material-efficient pouch films. Based on PP and PE, these versatile film products are suitable for a wide range of applications: as PE flow packs for cuts of cheese, grated cheese, mozzarella or garlic bread; as PP doypacks for snacks; as PP or PE block-bottom pouches for coffee and tea; or as PP spouted pouches for fruit purées. Even fresh ground meat can be safely packaged in these convenient pouch formats.

For premium cuts and products with bones or sharp edges – such as T-bone steaks, lamb racks or seafood – SÜDPACK will put the spotlight on its latest range of skin films. These highly transparent films help extend the shelf life of delicate, high-value food products and can be sealed to PP, PE, and PET films.

Sustainability in all of its facets

As one of Germany’s most innovative mid-sized companies, SÜDPACK continues to set new benchmarks – and not only with its films and packaging solutions. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the company has become a driving force for circularity in the European plastics and packaging industry. Significant investments in both mechanical and chemical recycling – reinforced by pioneering pilot projects and active political engagement – have further strengthened SÜDPACK’s excellent reputation, which was once again recognized in 2025 with a Platinum rating from EcoVadis.

The development of the 7C printing technology has further strengthened the company’s position in the market. According to an LCA study conducted by SÜDPACK in collaboration with Sphera in 2025 (in compliance with ISO 14040/44), switching to SPQ-Technology for packaging printing can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 18% – whether using flexographic or rotogravure printing.

By the way: SÜDPACK’s LCA service, which enables a comprehensive evaluation of a packaging concept across its entire lifecycle – including various end-of-life scenarios – is also available to customers in the UK. The service includes holistic consulting and supports rapid time-to-market for custom packaging solutions.

Visitors to Packaging Innovations are warmly invited to stop by the SÜDPACK booth – whether they have a specific project in mind or are simply looking to learn more about the available solutions.
