SÜDPACK now offers the SKINPro® top web as part of its skin packaging range. In addition, we ensure our customers benefit from maximum flexibility and packaging reliability, thanks to a comprehensive portfolio of bottom webs specifically tailored to the requirements of the SKINPro top webs. Skin films adapt perfectly to the contours of any product and hold the contents securely in place. Skin packaging is an ideal choice for premium products like fish, enabling a high-end presentation at the point of sale.
We offer our customers a complete range of precisely coordinated skin top and bottom webs that set new standards for flexibility, process reliability, and packaging reliability.
Like a second skin, the transparent, wafer thin top web closely hugs the product without any tension and without altering its shape. It ensures that the goods are attractively presented, while clearly signaling that only the minimum necessary packaging material has been used. The food’s quality, freshness, color, and texture remain clearly visible through the packaging, boosting consumer acceptance and supporting a positive packaging experience. This is further emphasized by the package’s clean, smooth, and easy opening behavior.
Vacuum skin packaging is the ideal solution for fresh meat, as removing oxygen from the package significantly extends the product’s shelf life. Compared to other packaging concepts, it helps preserve peak product quality for longer.
For example, innovative skin packaging solutions can extend the shelf life of beef to 12–14 days – significantly longer than with modified-atmosphere packaging – while also reducing food waste by around 35%.

SKINPro top webs combine high puncture resistance for excellent packaging reliability with high-performance barrier properties and reliable sealing for effective product protection. Skin packaging also enhances product presentation at the point of sale (POS) by keeping the product fully visible.

In SKINPro packaging, the top web conforms closely to the product like a second skin. During thermoforming, the film is heated and stretched, while air is evacuated from the chamber. During the vacuum stage, a controlled air supply draws the flexible skin top web smoothly over the product without creasing. The film is then sealed across the entire surface of the bottom web, securely enclosing the product.
The result is high-quality skin packaging that combines a precise fit with high product safety and appealing product presentation.
What type of bottom web can I use with my SKINPro top web?
A range of bottom webs is available for use with the SKINPro top web, each specifically designed to meet the requirements of skin packaging: Ecopet rigid film with excellent thermoforming properties, the Ecocraft Skin paper laminate for paper-fiber-based packaging concepts, and Ecoterm SV PP thermoforming film for modern mono-material solutions.
The SKINPro top web itself is not recyclable. However, a range of bottom webs is available for skin packaging, with different material structures designed to meet varying requirements for recyclability and product protection depending on the application.
SKINPro film is designed for reliable machinability and high packaging reliability and can be processed on all commonly used thermoforming and tray skin packaging machines.
