1. Carlo, you have taken over leadership of the Food Business Unit. What matters most to you in your new role?

Carlo:
For me, the key is creating real added value for our customers. Our solutions have to perform in day-to-day business – economically, sustainably and reliably.
That means setting clear priorities, listening closely and accelerating execution.

2. You have experienced SÜDPACK from the ground up — from production to leadership. How does that shape you today?

Carlo:
Early on, I learned how value creation really happens – not on paper, but in production.
That still shapes me today: I make decisions close to reality and with a clear focus on what creates value – and what doesn’t.

3. SÜDPACK is a family-owned company with strong values. What does that mean to you in your role?

Carlo:
For me, it’s less about where we come from and more about our mindset.
We stand for reliability, partnership and long-term thinking. That’s exactly what our customers expect from us.
My job is to carry those values into the future – with a clear focus on market demands and innovation.

4. The market is changing rapidly — sustainability, regulation, cost pressure. How are you responding?

Carlo:
By becoming more focused.
Not every idea is relevant – what matters is what truly helps our customers and what they are willing to pay for.

My focus is on three things:
- Solutions with real customer value
- Competitive cost structures
- Speed in development and implementation

Those who combine these well will succeed in the market.

5. What exactly do you expect from your team?

Carlo:
Clarity, accountability and customer focus.

I expect us not to think in silos, but to act as one team across our segments and markets.
Success comes from people who take responsibility and make things happen.

6. SÜDPACK stands for innovation and sustainability. How do you bring those together in concrete terms?

Carlo:
By consistently aligning innovation with customer needs.
Sustainability has to make economic sense – otherwise it won’t gain traction.

Our ambition: solutions that combine both and can be scaled –
environmental progress and economic value.

7. “A little better every day” — what does that mean to you personally as a manager?

Carlo:
It’s about continuous improvement – practical and without perfectionism.
I want to create an environment where decisions are made faster, ownership is embraced and we learn from mistakes.

8. Finally, where do you want the Food Business Unit to be in the years ahead?

Carlo:
We will be recognized as a partner that solves complex challenges – reliably, innovatively and competitively.
With a clear focus and an offering that differentiates itself through performance.

In short:
When a customer faces a challenge, SÜDPACK is the first choice.
