PLA is a bioplastic – a material made from renewable raw materials that can be biodegradable and/or compostable. This means PLA combines environmental benefits with strong performance, opening up new possibilities.
Our Planova films are made from PLA, a bio-based material sourced, for example, from sugarcane or corn starch. Under industrial composting conditions, PLA can fully break down into CO₂ and water – an important step toward a functioning circular economy. SÜDPACK Planova films actively help reduce the carbon footprint, lower the use of finite, petroleum-based raw materials, and make a measurable contribution to environmental and climate protection. At the same time, they are food-safe (FOOD CERT). At the point of sale, these bio-based films impress with their high transparency and brilliant gloss. Their pleasant feel, along with a wide range of design and finishing options, opens up additional creative possibilities for brands and products.
For technical and industrial use cases, PLA films offer a robust, functional, and sustainable solution.
